STEEL WHISPER

Introduction

Hi there! I'm Steel Whisper, a fledgling electronic musician currently working on my debut album! My music is heavily inspired by (though not really faithful to) the 2000s, so I figured I could further add to that aesthetic by creating a Neocities page for my music instead of just going for standard Social Media. The website is, as you might have guessed, heavily WIP, but there's more cool stuff to come!

A bit more about me

So, I'm a bedroom producer in my early 20s and I've always been captivated by utopian imaginations of the future. I've always loved looking at art pieces portraying lively but clean cities, watching videos showing what the next xbox 720 is gonna look like (you know the ones), etc. etc. There was just this wondrous excitement about the potential of the Internet and Technology as a whole that our present jaded selves haven't seen in ages.

As I learned how to make music, I noticed that a lot of the songs I composed were naturally happy, excited, optimistic, or blissful. I found this a bit weird because most of the music I listen to on my own time is dark or heavy, but I'm now leaning more into this kind of music. I want to share the feeling of being excited about the future again. Perhaps the more people feel that way, the better of a place the world will be.

What am I working on?

I don't have this musician PR thing figured out yet, so I won't divulge into too many details. However, it's an album that essentially reflects everything I mentioned in the previous paragraphs. It's a call to be more optimistic, written in something that is surely based on Jungle/Breakcore, but I'm not sure if it'd fit the genre entirely. I've always been just composing electronic music my own way, and drumbreaks are essentially something I stuck onto my already existing style. At the time of writing, I'm really wondering if my music would be enjoyable at all.
